My client, a thriving organization in the food processing and manufacturing sectors, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a proactive individual eager to contribute to a progressive organization and to advance within the finance department.

As Senior Accountant, you will report into the Controller and play a pivotal role in overseeing aspects of the monthly accounting process, participating in financial statement preparation, and contributing to various financial analyses. You will also assist with crucial reporting requirements and process improvements. This position offers exposure to higher-level operations and direct collaboration with managers and junior team members.

Responsibilities:

Ensure adherence to documented internal controls, approvals, procedures, and tax entry compliance.

Prepare and input journal entries, maintain general ledger to financial statements, subledgers, and other sources of information.

Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and analysis to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

Review and reconcile all inter-company transactions; generate invoices as necessary.

Adhere to deadlines around month end, cut-off issues, reconciliations, and reporting.

Report month-end financial information using ERP systems and MS Excel, with corporate entry to financial consolidation systems.

Analyze financial statements for discrepancies, variances from budget, and other issues that should be brought to management s attention.

Lead Accountant for assigned operating companies, working collaboratively to ensure a smooth, efficient, and accurate accounting and closing process.

Provide support to managers, supervisors, and co-workers, and review work of junior department members.

Query databases/ERP for business purposes and create ad hoc reports to support business needs.

Perform financial administration & business support as required.

Identify and provide recommendations regarding process improvement opportunities, and support implementation of improved processes and controls.

Qualifications:

Must have a CPA with 3+ years of accounting experience

Meticulous attention to detail.

Ability to effectively problem solve and make decisions; be proactive in improving processes.

Ability to adapt and lead in a high-performance environment.
