Heavy Equipment Operator

Garland County Landfill has an immediate opening at the Landfill for a Heavy Equipment Operator.

The HEO must be capable of operating equipment such as a scraper, dozer, tub grinder, front-end loader, backhoe, water truck, and compactor as needed. The incumbent will be responsible for compacting of layers of waste to conserve landfill space, and covering of waste in accordance with permit requirements for weekly, intermediate and final cover.

The applicant shall have a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of five (5) years general HEO experience. Pre-employment drug screen required and also will be required to submit to random drug testing.

Applications will be accepted between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00 pm at the Garland County Landfill, 1040 Cedar Glades Road, Hot Springs, AR 71901.

Garland County is an EOE.
