Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool ICU position in Ohio requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and an active OH or compact license.

Responsibilities

Work as a Critical Care Float Pool RN in a hospital setting

Float between Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU (MICU), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU units based on staffing and acuity needs

Weekend night shifts, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Nurses will float to units of equal or lower acuity as required

Uses Epic for charting and documentation

Must be flexible to float between various ICU specialty units as needed

All time off requests must be submitted at the time of application

Mandatory fingerprinting process for OH must be completed promptly upon contract signing

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Former employees eligible after a 6-month break from facility employment

Current employees of Ohio State University hospitals are ineligible for assignment as travelers

Requirements

Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Proficiency with Epic EMR is required

Experience with IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management

Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required

Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisory role

Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
