Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool ICU position in Ohio, requiring an active OH or compact RN license and strong ICU experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital-based Critical Care Float Pool covering multiple ICUs including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, MICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, and CVICU
Float to various ICUs based on staffing needs and patient acuity, with assignments always at units of equivalent or lower acuity
Three 12-hour rotating shifts with primary assignment to PM but potential for AM in 4-week blocks
Weekend day shift coverage required with additional flexibility as unit needs arise
Uses Epic EMR system; proficiency required
Responsible for adapting quickly to different ICU units and patient needs
Must promptly complete Ohio fingerprinting process for credentialing
RTO requests must be included at the time of contract
Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
Eligible if not employed at the facility in the past 6 months; current employees are ineligible
Previous travel experience is strongly preferred
Requirements
Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
Demonstrated proficiency in IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management
Previous experience with Epic EMR required
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor
