We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Tool Crib Support Specialist to support daily operations of our tool room. This vital role ensures the proper management, tracking, and maintenance of tools and consumables used throughout the facility. Ideal candidates will have a background in inventory control, tool room operations, or warehouse environments and a passion for maintaining accuracy and quality in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
Issue tools and consumables per requisition
Check tools in/out for jobs and maintain accurate records
Clean, inspect, and tag tools requiring repair
Maintain organization of tool storage and ensure correct tool labeling
Replace or generate new barcodes as needed
Monitor and maintain min/max levels for all tooling
Order and restock tools and consumables as needed
Maintain daily tool order logs and track tool movement
Perform quarterly inventory audits and support reporting
Ensure quality and readiness of all outgoing tools
Participate in 5S initiatives to keep the tool room efficient and organized
Set up cutting tools and verify using presetting equipment
Respond promptly to all tool room-related quality system requirements
Support the Tool Room Supervisor with additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
3–5 years of relevant experience (tool crib, inventory, or stockroom)
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
Flexible and willing to work varied hours as needed
Hands-on experience with basic tools and equipment
Preferred:
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
Experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment
Familiarity with inventory tracking systems or ERP software
