Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our customers network infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of network hardware, protocols, security, and architecture. The successful candidate will also be able to work independently or as part of a team to manage projects and troubleshoot network-related issues.
Essential Duties
Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN)
Configure and install network hardware and software (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems
Assist in capacity planning and performance tuning
Troubleshoot network issues and outages, collaborating with internal and external teams to resolve them efficiently
Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and tools
Stay up to date on industry trends, vulnerabilities, and best practices
Take initiative to continue training in all aspects of the job as time allows
Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, infrastructure changes, and procedures
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
5+ years of experience in network engineering or similar role
Extreme Networks certified or hands-on experience with Switch Engine (EXOS), ExtremeCloud IQ, Fabric Engine (VOSS)
CCNA or CWNA
Have a basic understanding of data cabling and connections including RJ-45, wall jacks, patch panels, and fiber optics
Have a strong understanding of Layer 2 and 3 protocols and services (VLAN, 802.1X, SPBM, STP, LLDP, IGMP, IPsec, IPv4, OSPF, ISIS)
Possess a valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer Networking
Relevant certifications (CCNP, CWNP, Network+)
Sales Engineering experience
Network Engineering Consulting experience

Working conditions
Typically a 40 hour work week M-F
Mostly day shifts but potential for some overtime, weekend, and evening shifts
Work will be split between our office and customer sites
Customer sites may be out of state and may require air travel and overnight stays.
Physical requirements
Ability to climb ladders and lift heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds).
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time

This is a full-time hourly position. The pay range is $20-$60 hourly depending upon experience.
