Director of Government Compliance
Owen Daniels are proud to be partnered with Fortune 500 organization in their search for a Director of Government Compliance to lead all government compliance across the organization.
The company is a global leader supplying precision engineering solutions across multiple sectors, with their Aerospace division supplying both defense civil and aviation.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a seasoned compliance executive to lead government compliance across the organization. This Director-level position reports to the Group Controller and serves as a key member of senior leadership, driving excellence through rigorous adherence to regulatory requirements, contractual commitments, and ethical standards governing defense programs and government contracting.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and lead the group’s government compliance including strategy, policies, and procedures.
Act as the group’s primary point of authority and subject matter expert on all government compliance matters, including ITAR/EAR, FAR/DFARS, CMMC and NIST.
Lead the Group’s development, implementation, and maintenance of robust controls and processes to ensure compliance with all government requirements.
Lead and manage the department providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of compliance throughout the group.
Establish strong working relationships with government agencies, including the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of State, Department of Commerce.
Liaise with the corporate compliance team to oversee government audits, investigations, ensuring timely and accurate responses and actions.
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and develop mitigation strategies.
Communicate and advise the senior leadership team on potential compliance risks and the impact of regulatory changes on the group’s operations.
Ensure that third-party partners and suppliers adhere to applicable government compliance requirements through due diligence and contractual flow-down provisions.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Law, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline
10-15+ years within in government compliance within Defense or Aerospace
Strong understanding and experience interacting with government agencies on contracting processes and requirements.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
Ability to obtain security clearance.
This essential leadership role demands an accomplished compliance expert with comprehensive knowledge of government compliance within the Aerospace or Defense sector. The right leader will be instrumental in protecting organizational integrity while driving sustained growth in government contracting.
