Customs Operations Manager
Location: Dover, Kent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 18:00
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Contributory Pension
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
The Opportunity

As Customs Operations Manager, you’ll be leading a dedicated team, shaping operations, and driving performance in a busy, fast-moving environment. If you thrive on solving problems, mentoring people, and improving processes, this role could be a perfect fit.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading, supporting and motivating a team of customs clearance professionals
Taking a hands-on approach to the day-to-day running of the department
Managing team performance, targets and profitability
Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and service levels
Building great relationships with key clients and supporting new business opportunities
Preparing and calculating quotations for customs and freight services
Ensuring compliance with customs regulations and company policies
Working closely with the management team and attending regular operations meetings
What We’re Looking For
Around 10 years’ experience in customs clearance or freight forwarding
Confident people management experience – you enjoy leading and bringing out the best in others
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
A proactive, can-do attitude and a genuine interest in improving how things are done
