Job Description Summary
The purpose of this job is to operate the landfill scale house, produce landfill tickets, receive payments for services, and respond to customer inquiries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description
Weighs vehicles entering and leaving landfill and collects appropriate fees.
Prepares daily reconciliation reports and deposits.
Performs general office administrative tasks.
Opens and closes scale house.
Assists customers and schedules grease and asbestos dumps.
Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.
1 to 3 years of related experience including cash-handling.
Licenses or Certifications

Knowledge of:
Common business software applications such as Microsoft Office.

The City of Columbia is seeking a Scalehouse Cashier to join the team at the City's landfill. This position works in a conditioned space and is responsible for providing customer service to landfill users while ensuring accurate and efficient processing of transactions.
HOURS: Tuesday 8a-11p; Wednesday 6:30a-4:30p; Thursday 6:30a-4:30p;
Friday 6:30a-4:30p; Saturday 7:30a-2:30p
