A Software

Tester works closely with developers, business analysts, and project

managers to ensure software applications meet the required standards of

quality and functionality. This role involves analyzing business and

technical requirements to design comprehensive test plans and test cases.

The tester's primary responsibility is to validate that the application

performs as expected and to identify, document, and track any defects or

bugs, ensuring the final product is stable, reliable, and aligns with the

needs of the end-user.

The tester

will be required to do the following:

·

Requirement Analysis and Test Planning- A

tester begins by analyzing software requirements to understand the

application's functionality, then creates a comprehensive test plan to

guide the entire testing process.

·

Test Case Creation and Execution - testers design

and write detailed test cases to verify specific features, and then execute

them to confirm the application behaves as expected.

·

Defect Reporting and Tracking - when a bug is

found, the tester's job is to document and report it clearly and

accurately, then track the defect's lifecycle until it is resolved.

·

Regression Testing - this task involves re-running

a select group of tests to ensure that new code changes haven't

accidentally broken existing features or created new bugs.

·

Performance and Security Testing - testers run

specific tests to verify the application's speed and stability under load,

and also to identify any vulnerabilities that could compromise data or

user security.
