Sr Engineer- Project Manager (Automated Warehouse/Cold Storage)
What you will do

In this role as a Sr. Engineer at Amgen ETA, you will play a critical role in supporting Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) and Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) ASRS/AGV and Cold Room/Refrigeration systems and processes used in Amgen Manufacturing, Packaging and Warehouse operation. As someone with a strong technical background, you will work with multi-functional teams to develop innovative solutions, apply ground-breaking technologies that improve Amgen current operation, systems and processes. You will help us build a strong culture, facilitate technical implementation, and work with us to continuously improve the way we work. You will be collaborating with the Associate Director of Engineering.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead the planning, design, development, implementation and integration of automated warehouse and retrieval systems (ASRS) and Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) across Amgen Engineering network
Serve as a recognized Engineering Subject Matter Expert in Automated Warehouse, ASRS, AGVs and Advanced Automated Solutions implementation across the network.
Serve as an Engineering Subject Matter Expert in Amgen supported design of Cold Room and Refrigeration automation and mechanical design.
Support the creation of equipment and systems design specifications based on material, compliance and system operator requirements. Ensure all automation systems meet CGMP, 21 CFR Part 11 and FDA requirements
Coordinate detailed design, creation and approval of design documents: User requirement specifications (URS), Functional specifications (FS)
Support the Engineering Commissioning, Start-up and Operation of Automated Warehouse, Packaging and Manufacturing systems
Support Commissioning, Qualification and Validation (CQV) process for applicable automated systems including Automated warehouse with ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System) and AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles)
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, Warehouse, DTI and EH&S to ensure appropriate input and integration of local and corporate standards.
Ability to lead multi-functional initiatives and encourage creative and critical thinking.
Ability to manage a team and external vendors to achieve both technical and interpersonal success.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
Or
Masters degree and 2 years of Project Manager, Automated Warehouse, or Cold Storage experience
Or
Bachelors degree and 4 years of Project Manager, Automated Warehouse, or Cold Storage experience
Or
Associates degree and 8 years of Project Manager, Automated Warehouse, or Cold Storage experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Process Development, Engineering, or NPI of Project Manager, Automated Warehouse, or Cold Storage experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor or Masters degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, Mechatronics).
10+ years of experience within Life and Sciences and regulated environment
Proficiency in Automated processes, technologies and systems deployment and adoption
Strong project management and communication skills
Strong knowledge of cGMP and validation processes.
Experience with ASRS, AGV, WMS (SAP EWM) and Cold room/Refrigeration controls is a plus
Experience with Industry 4.0 and IIoT technologies
Occasionally willing to travel
Fluently English, both in oral and written communication

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
