General Description
To provide leadership for a team of computer technicians for technical support, including troubleshooting and the maintenance of software and hardware within the school system. The Lead Technician will also be responsible for the coordination, installation, and setup of new equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (with emphasis in Computer Information Systems)
Training in computer electronics or equivalent training
3-5 years of formal computer/technical training or equivalent experience in the computer field
3-5 years experience with a variety of technology- APPLE, HP, Microsoft, Chromebooks, etc.
3-5 years experience with Microsoft and Google Admin. Experience.
Essential Job Functions
Respond to trouble calls from the staff in the school system and keep a log of these calls.
Troubleshoot and repair APPLE products, Chromebooks, Laptops, desktops
computers on-site or remove equipment for repairs.
Place service calls on computer and related equipment, or perform service as needed to make software or hardware function correctly with consultation from the Supervisor.
Maintains the computer inventory database and periodically provides updated listings to the schools and central office staff.
Implements and maintains a preventive maintenance and cleaning schedule of computer equipment in the school system.
Maintains a high level of expertise in the primary software packages and operating systems used within the school system (Example - APPLE, Chrome, Windows, etc).
When requested, design classes for training staff in the operation and effective use of hardware and the major software packages used in the school system.
Maintain local area networks and wide-area networks to include the loading and testing of software and operating systems.
Perform and ensure routine back-up systems to protect network security
Perform updates and design pages to support the website
Attend meetings as designated/ requested
Manage and work closely with technology team for integrations
Review and complete technology tickets
Work and collaborate with other members of the technology team
Work and collaborate with network security provider
The applicant must have his/her means of transportation.

Desire a certified Network Professional (CNP), Novell Master CNE (MCNE), and Microsoft Certified Professional Systems Engineer (MCPSE).
A thorough knowledge of the operation, use, and capabilities of IBM/compatibles, Apple, Macintosh computers, and peripheral equipment as applied to educational and business procedures.
Ability to understand and carry out complex written and/or oral instructions.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good vision, manual dexterity, and ability to move computers and peripheral equipment.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to work in terms of the abstract with a perception of a minute detail.

Requirements
Minimum of 18 years of age.
