The in-home setting could be a patient’s private residence or in a patient’s room in an independent living facility.
Rehabilitation To You allows the Occupational Therapy Assistant to treat in the most functional environment which is the patient's home.
The Occupational Therapy Assistant implements occupational therapy programs and provides occupational therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning, under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
This position provides a flexible schedule and work environment in various settings.\n\n RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:\n\n\n\tAttends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.\n\tResponsible for adherence to department and patient treatment schedule, timely clinical and billing documentation requirements as well as work related meetings.\n\tWorks with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.\n\tInstructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.\n\tMaintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.\n\tCleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.\n\tPuts Patient Service First: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.\n\tImplements a patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Occupational Therapist.\n\tProvides individualized occupational therapy interventions including application of therapeutic techniques in such areas as, but not limited to:\n\n\n\n\tcognitive skills\n\tmuscle strength\n\tcoordination\n\tendurance\n\tmobility\n\tperceptual abilities\n\tsensory awareness\n\tsitting and standing tolerance\n\tbalance\n\tactivities of daily living\n\tjoint protection\n\twork simplification\n\torientation\n\tphysical agent modalities\n\tlow vision\n\tfalls risk management\n\tmedication management\n\thealth and wellness\n\tcommunity integration and reintegration\n\n\n\n\tPerforms other related duties as required.\n\n\n SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\n\n\n\tMust have a valid license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license eligibility.\n\tMust have a valid driver’s license or reliable, independent transportation to and from the patients’residence.\n\n\n JOB SKILLS:\n\n\n\tGood organizational and time management skills.\n\tGood verbal and written communication skills.\n\n\n COMPLIANCE:\n\n\n\tComplies with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including but not limited to those within the Compliance and Ethics Program, Standard/Code of Conduct, Federal False Claims Act and HIPAA.\n\tParticipates in required orientation and training programs.\n\tPromptly reports concerns and suspected incidences of non-compliance to supervisor, Compliance Liaison or to the Compliance Officer via the Integrity Hotline.\n\tCooperates with monitoring and audit functions and investigations.\n\tParticipates, as requested, in quality assurance and process improvement activities.\n\n Techlink Systems Inc.
