Work Days and hours would vary between Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm depending on student’s schedule.

This is an ongoing internship located in Columbus, OH. The selected candidate will ideally be able to work throughout the school year and summer, for an average of 20 hours per week or less (with flexibility during the school semesters given class schedule and course load).
The pay rate for a college intern is based upon the students' academic status:
Undergraduate student rate of pay - $16.93 per hour
Graduate student rate of pay - $20.59 per hour
Major/field of study should be in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity
Job duties:
Perform fundamental tasks using a limited/basic understanding of high-level network security
Read and respond to emails
Review current IT and Security policies
Assist with conducting technical security audits of information systems
Assist in maintaining documentation for compliance with Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and internal security standards
Support the review of system access controls, authentication methods, and security configurations
Learn to analyze audit findings and help prepare reports
Research new security products and strategies
Research emerging cybersecurity incident response and reporting processes
Develop quality assurance procedures
Test, troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing applications
Participate in requirements analysis, gather and evaluate user feedback

Employment Requirements (all must be verified upon hire)
To be eligible for an internship opportunity at the Ohio Department of Public Safety, an applicant must:
Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.
Be in good standing with the college/university.
Have a minimum grade point average of 2.0.
Be enrolled in at least one course.
Be pursuing a degree or finishing a degree.
