At APG, you will be part of the Alternative Investments Administration Team within the Operations department which is the heart of APG Asset Management (AM). The information our team provides must be accurate, timely and complete. The data and information products we provide to a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders is used for high quality decision-making and regulatory and financial reporting. Alternative investments focus can be considered as non listed investments with focus on Real Estate, Infrastructure, Credits and Private equity.
The Alternative Investments Administration team consists of 20 professionals with a balanced mix of gender, nationality, experience level and ages. The team has a critical function within Operations for the Alternative Investments value chain and interacts with a large set of other teams and departments within APG asset management but also with a large set of external parties (external investment managers). As we are a n informationproduct and deal driven organized team, your task/roles and responsibilities will be diversified and vary in volume and complexity on a regular base. Our teams main deliverables are accounting, financial reporting and operational initiation and guidance of set up of investments in systems, cashflow transactions and supplemented (to some extent) with reasonableness checks on investments valuations provided by other parties and departments.
As an Officer on our team, your main tasks & repsonbilities are:Recurring recording of financial transactions in our systems (cashflows, valuations, commitments);Performing quality checks on the financial data elements provided by internal and external parties;Recurring preparation of financial reports or financial information (financial statements, costs overviews, investments overviews, movement schedules, cash flow forecasts)Active liaison with internal and external vendors and stakeholders to ensure the relevant financial data needed for our deliverables are obtained in time and are of sufficient quality;Assuming the overall coordination process of certain reports and deliverables. Taking responsibility for the timely and accurate delivery of overall deliverables/projects where multiple of your colleagues work on. This entails coaching, review, setting up timelines and plans and monitor progress vs. plan and take corrective actions where necessary.Active in the coaching of more junior colleagues and assuming a quality review role on the work performed by more junior colleagues.You can (and feel comfortable) to act as the team representative on several Operations related overarching projects/deliverables. We as team want to see from you that you are able to be our team frontrunner in a reliable way and ensure our interests are represented.
Please note:This role is not suitable for freelancers (ZZP).During the onboarding period, the candidate is expected to work entirely on-site. After that, the candidate will be required to work two days per week at the Heerlen office.The position is 40 hours per week and falls within salary scale 9.The assignment is for 6 months, with a possible extension option.The first CV selection will take place on Monday, October 13.Please submit profiles as PDF files, not as Word documents.
Be aware that this role is a financial accounting /reporting and operational process management role.

We also ask for:a bachelor's or university degree preferably in financial economics, business economics or business administration;at least 5 years of experience in an financial process role (accounting/reporting, operations) with a demonstrable track record in having assumed more and increasing responsibility (volume and complexity). Ideally this is your 2nd or 3rd step in your career;Experience with coaching colleagues;Experience with priority setting in your workload. Strong workload planning skills. Solid base in project management skills;Self starter, independent and creative way of thinking by having the ability to independently figuring out different scenarios/solutions when a hurdle arises.Solid skillset in accounting and reporting;an excellent command of English (both spoken and written), Dutch is an advantage.the right candidate has a curious mindset, strong affinity with checking details, is ambitious and eager to want to prove himself, high energy level and committed to get the job done even when it seems difficult. Last but not least some one who keeps calm and never looses oversights of the end goal.
