Position Summary:

Bishop Watterson High School, located at 99 E. Cooke Road in Columbus, is seeking a proactive and principled individual as a full time (Noon-8pm - afternoon/evening hours) Maintenance Custodian. Afternoon/Evening Part-Time hours could also be considered depending on candidate preference. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for this job. The Maintenance team member helps oversee a clean and safe working environment for all students, staff, and visitors by personally performing the following essential job responsibilities:

Primary Role and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and scrubs floors

Dust and wash walls, cleans ceilings and light fixtures. Replace lightbulbs.

Cleans bathrooms, refill soap dispensers, toilets, sinks, counters, mirrors, and floors in all restroom areas.

Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, tables, chairs, crates, and equipment to clean areas. Set-up and tear down of tables and chairs in meeting spaces.

May also sweep walks, rake leaves, or perform seasonal tasks.

Empty trash cans and replace liners.

Ability to perform general routine repairs and do preventative maintenance

Knowledge of and ability to operate maintenance tools

Regular attendance and punctuality is essential for this job.

Qualifications:

Compliance with BCI/FBI background checks and have attended or be willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training

Frequent movement about the school campus to complete the essential job responsibilities outlined above.

The ability to be a team player and have harmonious relationship skills when dealing with co-workers and other employees, families, and the general public.

A Physical Demands Strength Rating (which reflects the estimated overall strength requirement of the job and represents the strength requirements, which are important for average, successful work performance) is for Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly, to move objects. Physical demand requirements are more than those for Medium Work.
