Directions for Youth & Families offers community-based mental health and prevention services using a resiliency-oriented, trauma-informed framework.
Our programs span Treatment, Prevention, and Education, including specialized mental health counseling, kindergarten readiness, and after-school and summer programming. We proudly serve over 8,500 youth, adults, and families each year — all driven by our mission to build and inspire hope, healing, and resilience through counseling and education.

Position Summary
As a School-Based Licensed Social Worker or Counselor, you will provide clinical assessment, mental health counseling, case management, and care coordination to students within your assigned school. You will collaborate with school staff, parents, and community partners to support students’ emotional wellbeing and academic success.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual counseling sessions to address mental health and emotional needs.
Collaborate with school staff, parents, and community resources to support student wellbeing.
Conduct clinical assessments, document findings, and develop treatment goals.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Participate in supervision and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling, or Bachelor’s in Social Work with LSW.
Licensure: Current Ohio LSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC.
Preferred: Experience working with youth in a school-based setting.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Self-motivated, flexible, and collaborative.
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
