Electrical Engineer (Thermal Chilled Water Systems)

The Electrical Engineer will contribute to the release of new, best in class Chiller and CW Systems products; will work in a cross-functional development group; manage a variety of tasks and activities in a dynamic environment; Will provide direct support of our manufacturing teams, analyze manufacturing issues, report findings back to the electrical engineering team, and support implementation of solutions.

Design next generation Chiller and computer room cooling products designed for air and liquid cooling systems Collaboration across the disciplines of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, as well as production and offering teams.

Work with these teams for design reviews, meeting cost metrics, and brainstorming around customer pain points.

Performs a variety of engineering calculations using traditional engineering methods to verify design requirements Implement product changes to solve field issues, support service department Support manufacturing facilities with prototypes, testing, sustaining and cost reduction activities Support lab facilities with prototypes and testing Be familiar with design solutions connected with EMC, Harmonics and Power Factor correction on industrial products Create and revise unit wiring schematics and network connection drawings Work with software team to develop and verify product controls solutions Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related degree from an accredited college or university ~Familiar with HVAC design or an industrial design of a similar nature ~ Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for phases of the product development process ~ Excellent project management skills and communication skills, both written and verbal ~ Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.VFD programming and troubleshooting experience ~ The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.
