THE POSITION

Reporting to the Vice President, Asset Management, the Sr. Associate, Asset Management, is our main liaison between ownership and 3rd party property management. The primary objective of this role is to manage all operational aspects of the portfolio’s assets, drive excellence in asset performance, and business plan execution.

What You Can Expect To Do

Assist with driving asset performance, generate and execute strategic asset plans; strategically manage property cash flow, and major repair and maintenance capital improvements.

Develop a thorough understanding of each property and its challenges, assess implementation of strategic initiatives, assess operational and management performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Coordinate and manage strategic capital improvement plans carried out by general contractors and third-party vendors.

Forge strong relationships with operating partners to proactively work through challenges and communicate concerns up internal and external chains of command when expectations are not being met.

Analyze and ensure the integrity of monthly and quarterly property-level financial statements vs. budget or proforma.

Creation and implementation of annual operating and capital budgets.

With the support of our Compliance team, monitor compliance requirements and deadlines across multiple government agencies and programs.

Maintain terms of partnership agreements, loan documents, regulatory agreements and various property agreements.

Coordinate communications and manage requests from investors, lenders, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders.

Support our Construction Services and Acquisitions teams with ad-hoc coordination and communication as needed.

Conduct frequent physical inspections of each asset and its competitive market in the portfolio.

What You Should Have

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related fields

3-5 years of experience with real estate asset management and finance

Operational experience with financial reporting and managing equity investments, in essential housing

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex data and present solutions

Effective communication and presentation skills to work effectively with and present to a broad range partners, agencies and third-party managers

Ambition, a strong desire to learn, to achieve, a history of career advancement

Organizational skills; the ability to manage your time, focus and communicate with clarity

A sense of urgency, an internal clock that helps you move with purpose and meet deadlines

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

The ability to travel as needed
