EmpowerED Care is a trauma-informed, family-centered agency dedicated to strengthening and stabilizing high-risk children and families. Our Early Intervention Speech-Language Therapists play a vital role in helping infants and toddlers develop essential communication skills, ensuring they reach their full potential.
We have multiple locations that we service around New York City; Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties.
We can offer Full-Time / Part-Time / Contract positions. We offer a flexible schedule with remote/hybrid work with travel to patients within your community.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment & Diagnosis
Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language, and swallowing disorders in infants and toddlers.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on developmental milestones and family needs.
Therapeutic Intervention
Provide play-based, structured therapy to enhance communication, articulation, and language development.
Teach children how to make sounds, improve their voices, and strengthen oral/written language skills.
Utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies when needed.
Family & Caregiver Support
Coach parents and caregivers on techniques to reinforce speech and language development at home.
Provide counseling and education on coping strategies for speech-related challenges.
Collaboration & Advocacy
Work closely with educators, occupational therapists, psychologists, and social workers to create holistic intervention strategies.
Advocate for early intervention services and educate families on the importance of early speech therapy.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and treatment adjustments.
Ensure compliance with state and federal early intervention regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)
Licensing: Valid SLP license & Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
Experience: 1-3 years in early intervention or pediatric speech therapy preferred
Skills: Strong knowledge of child development, speech disorders, and family-centered care
Soft Skills: Compassionate, patient, and excellent communication skills
