Primary Objective: The Early Intervention Supervisor provides leadership, supervision, and program oversight to ensure high-quality, family-centered early intervention services for children birth to age three (3) with developmental disabilities. This role supports employees through reflective supervision, promotes professional growth, ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, and fosters collaboration among families, community partners, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
Job Standards
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education, health, social or behavioral science, social services, human services, or other related field and two (2) to four (4) years' experience working with children birth through age five (5) with developmental disabilities; Master's degree in related field and three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.
Must be able to obtain and maintain an Early Intervention Service Coordination Supervisor certification through Ohio Professional Registry (OPR), which is maintained by the Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association (OCCRRA).
Must possess a valid State of Ohio Driver's License and acceptable driving record as stipulated by the Board's insurance carrier.
Physical Requirements: Light work strength level. The physical requirements of the position are identified as light work, which may require the lifting of up to 25 pounds occasionally.
The physical activity of the position is manual dexterity, talking, hearing, reaching, and navigating your environment.
Ability to operate standard office equipment in the performance of essential functions (e.g. copy machine, fax machine, personal computer, and telephone.).
Other Requirements: Successful completion of a criminal records check (BCI and/or FBI) and registry/database check as required by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD), driving record checks, and DCBDD receiving favorable reference reports.
Flexible work hours are required on occasion to meet the needs of DCBDD.
Essential Functions
Provides supervision and guidance to Early Intervention staff; meets with assigned staff individually at least monthly to provide structured, reflective supervision; recommends corrective/disciplinary action as determined necessary.
Assists with the coordination of staff development programs to support Early Intervention capacity building opportunities.
Assists the Director of Programs and Services in maintaining the daily operations of the department by reviewing, implementing, and managing program policies and procedures.
Reviews Early Intervention staff progress notes, case notes, Title XX documentation, and any other necessary and compliance driven paperwork for all assigned staff.
Participates in the the onboarding, training, and ongoing development of employees within the Early Intervention Department.
Collaborates with the Leadership Team on assignment projects within the Early Intervention Department.
Collaborates at least monthly with the supervisory team to review trends and patterns for employee development and training opportunities.
Participates in Department meetings and Administrative Team Meetings; facilitates team meetings for assigned employees; attends special team meetings.
Participates in system collaboration with partnering community agencies and school districts to support children and families with complex, multi-agency supports.
Ensures compliance with the Ohio Department of Children and Youth (DCY) and DODD and facilitates accreditation for early intervention; assists in the completion of accreditation self-review documents for early intervention; participates in accreditation on-site reviews and the development and completion of plans of correction for accreditation as assigned.
Provides input into the development of policies and procedures within the Early Intervention Department.
Participates in appeals and grievances as assigned by the Director of Programs and Services.
Provides backup supervision and direction to employees in the absence of their immediate supervisor.
Schedule may need to be flexible based on needs of the agency and/ or person served.
Attends conferences, seminars, workshops, and other related professional meetings; reviews professional publications and maintains awareness of relevant programmatic and legislative trends, advancements, innovations in the field; serves on applicable committees.
Regular attendance, as governed by and in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, procedures and laws, is regarded as an essential requirement of this classification.
Adheres to all ORC, OAC, and DCBDD policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
