Waste Connections is seeking a reliable and experienced CDL A Driver to operate our Missoula route, hauling trash from our transfer station to the landfill in Missoula.
This position involves operating a roll-off truck with one box on the truck and pulling a trailer with two additional boxes, totaling three boxes per trip to the landfill.
Starting Pay: $23.50/hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, occasional Saturdays as needed Start Time: Between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM, depending on route availability Key Responsibilities: * Waste Collection and Transportation: * Operate trash trucks to collect garbage, recycling, and yard waste on assigned routes.
* Ensure the safe and efficient loading of waste materials using appropriate techniques and equipment.
* Transport collected waste to designated disposal facilities.
* Vehicle Operation and Maintenance: * Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, ensuring it is in good working condition.
* Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the fleet maintenance team promptly.
* Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the vehicle to ensure compliance with safety standards.
* Safety and Compliance: * Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while operating the vehicle and handling waste materials.
* Comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to waste management and transportation.
* Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and provided.
* Customer Service: * Interact courteously with customers and the public, addressing any questions or concerns professionally.
* Ensure waste collection services meet customer expectations and resolve issues promptly.
* Record Keeping: * Maintain accurate records of daily routes, waste collected, and any incidents or issues encountered.
* Complete and submit required documentation in a timely manner.
* Qualifications: Qualifications: * Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
* Two years of commercial driving experience preferred.
* Strong knowledge of local streets and routes.
* Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety.
* Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and loading heavy items 50 lb +, with the ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb into the truck multiple times a day.
* Comfortable working in various weather conditions * Good communication and interpersonal skills.

* Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections and minor maintenance tasks.
