AWS Certified Welding Inspector, Austin, TX
Currently looking for an American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector to fill a first shift direct hire opening with a global company in Austin, TX.
Responsibilities of the AWS Certified Welding Inspector
Be responsible for welding inspection pertaining to the semiconductor industry including gas panel applications.
Apply your CWI Certification from the AWS to ensure the quality of welding operations, procedures and completed welds in compliance with designated welding symbols.
Conduct visual inspections of welds to check for defects, irregularities, and compliance with specifications
Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to assess the integrity of welds without causing damage.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, ensuring traceability and quality control
This is a first shift position.
Requirements of the AWS Certified Welding Inspector
High School Diploma
At least one year of experience welding inspection experience preferably pertaining to the semiconductor industry if a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline has been completed in conjunction with AWS CWI Certification
Otherwise, at least three years of experience in welding or welding inspection in conjunction with AWS CWI Certification
A willingness to travel to Malaysia for a 6-month project pertaining to a cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing project and then return permanently to Austin, TX after the 6 months has been completed as this position will be permanently located in Austin
Fluent English speaking, reading and writing is required
Sponsorship may be available and includes a very generous travel package to Malaysia for the 6-month timeframe
Compensation of the AWS Certified Welding Inspector
The targeted hourly base salary for this first shift position ranges from $28.00 to $45.00 per hour US depending on experience.
