We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Hospital Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications within the hospital setting. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and medication management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret medication orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
- Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
- Provide drug information and counseling to healthcare staff and patients.
- Monitor patient medication therapy for efficacy and safety, making recommendations as necessary.
- Collaborate with medical staff to develop treatment plans.
- Check Omnicell reports, check patient charges, Check Omnicell fill twice daily (morning and evening)
- Order any medications needed for inpatient side and also clinics
- Educate patients and their families about medication use, side effects, and adherence.
- Maintain accurate records of medication use and inventory management.
- Stay current with pharmaceutical advancements and best practices in medication management.Requirements:
Required Skills:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution is preferred, but not required
- Active pharmacist license in Mississippi
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and medication management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
