We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Paralegal to join the team in Boca Raton, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting our attorneys in all aspects of family law cases. This is a full-time, in-office position offering a guaranteed 40-hour work week, with overtime and performance-based bonuses.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys with case preparation, including drafting and filing legal documents with the court through the efiling portal.
Gather required financial documents from clients.
Interact with clients to create a list of expenses.
Prepare extensive discovery lists identifying documents that will be produced.
Prepare extensive lists of documents missing from discovery for clients and opposing counsel.
Maintain and organize files, ensuring all documents are current and properly stored. This includes data entry and organizing folders and files in Microsoft Windows.
Data entry into Family Law Software.
Maintain an organized email inbox.
Communicate with clients on all documents filed with the court.
Save documents filed with the court in the proper client folder.
Proof readProofread all items to be filed with the court.
Schedule calls, depositions, hearings, and mediations.
Prepare exhibits and assist in trial preparation.
Manage case deadlines, ensure timely filing of documents, and track case progress.
Provide administrative support, including answering phones, handling correspondence, and managing calendars.
Requirements:
Ability to use Microsoft Windows.
Ability to convert word documents to PDF.
Ability to edit PDF’s and organize the document within the PDF.
Ability to use and learn billing software.
Ability to use and learn discovery software.
Ability to use and learn the efiling portal in Florida.
Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A go-getter personality with a proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities.
Self-starter who can take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
Coachable and willing to learn and adapt to feedback.
Ability to work well within a team environment, supporting colleagues and clients alike.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Experience scheduling calls, depositions, and hearings.
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Adobe, and Excel.
Knowledge of family law procedures and terminology is preferred but not required.
