Position Summary

The Job Developer is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing competitive

integrated employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental

disabilities (IDD). This role works in collaboration with Employment Coaches, Vocational

Rehabilitation (VR), brokerage/CDDP case managers, families, and local businesses to

create sustainable and meaningful employment outcomes aligned with each individual’s

strengths, interests, and career goals.

Key Responsibilities

? Employer Engagement Development

o Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and community

partners.

o Market the skills and abilities of job seekers with IDD to potential

employers.

o Negotiate job matches that meet both employer needs and the individual’s

person-centered employment plan.

? Job Matching Placement

o Conduct vocational assessments and work with Employment Coaches to

identify career goals.

o Match individuals with appropriate job opportunities that align with their

skills, preferences, and support needs.

o Assist with applications, interviews, onboarding, and workplace

accommodations.

? Collaboration Support

o Coordinate with Employment Coaches to ensure ongoing workplace

support is provided as needed.

o Partner with Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors, case managers, and

families to develop and monitor employment plans.

o Communicate regularly with employers regarding employee performance,

accommodations, and retention strategies.

? Documentation Compliance

o Maintain accurate and timely case notes, employer contacts, and service

documentation in compliance with OAR, ODDS, VR, and Medicaid

requirements.

o Track employment outcomes, wages, hours, and employer retention data

for reporting purposes.

o Follow agency policies and procedures regarding confidentiality, HIPAA,

and data security.

? Advocacy Training

o Promote disability awareness and inclusion with employers and

community members.

o Provide training to employers and coworkers regarding supported

employment and workplace accommodations.

Working Conditions

? Community-based position requiring regular travel to businesses, job sites, and

community meetings.

? Flexible scheduling may include evenings or weekends to meet employer or

participant needs.

? Standard physical demands of office and job site environments; reasonable

accommodations provided as required.

Compensation Benefits

? Hourly wage: commensurate with experience

Qualifications

? High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in

Human Services, Business, or related field preferred.

? Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental

disabilities strongly preferred.

? Knowledge of supported employment, vocational rehabilitation, and person-

centered planning principles.

? Strong communication, networking, and marketing skills.

? Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet performance

goals.

? Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to pass OAR-required

background checks.
