The regional Director of Occupational Health and Safety (H&S) plays a critical role in ensuring the well-being of Alcoa Brazil s workforce and the safe operation of its facilities. The rationale for this position is rooted in the need for a strategic leader who can integrate health and safety practices across diverse and complex operations, including mining, refinery, smelter, logistic operations and consortium hydropower. General Employee/Labor Health & Safety work encompasses activities related to the wellbeing of employees including:

Develop and implement H&S and risk management programs, policies, and procedures across the Poços de Caldas, Alumar and Juruti units, as well as logistics operations (ships and truck transportation)

Drive a positive safety culture in the region by deploying Safety Maturity Assessments, Leader Time in Field standard, Human and Organizational Performance – HOP-, leadership accountability and field coaching;

Supervise the investigation of FSI and work-related incidents, ensuring proper identification of root causes and implementation of effective corrective actions (engineering controls

Actively participate in internal and external H&S forums, benchmarking initiatives, representing Alcoa and contributing to the advancement of industry practices;

Monitor and ensure the capability, operability and preparedness of Emergency Response Plans and Crisis management with the operating sites;

What you can bring to the role:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health, or related field; postgraduate degree

Solid experience as a senior leader in H&S management in large-scale industries, preferably in mining, metallurgy, chemical industry or logistics sectors;

Fluency in English / advanced English (non-negotiable)

Deep knowledge of Brazilian regulatory standards, as well as international H&S standards (e.g., ISO 45001, 31000, OSHA Process Safety Management, etc);

Work travel availability - 50% of the time (domestic)

Flexible work location (São Paulo preferably), since the candidate is available for work trips (50% of time).
