Job Posting Title: Electrical Installation Technician
Salary: £19.55 per hour
Hours: Full Time, Permanent, 36.5 hours per week
Location: Peterlee, County Durham
Shift Pattern: Day Shift

Hours: 5 days in the Peterlee facility.
Travel: Up to 5% for training and development
About Caterpillar Peterlee
Caterpillar Peterlee is the worldwide source of Cat® Articulated Trucks, currently producing an 8-model range used in many industries including mining, construction and aggregates. The facility's manufacturing activities use the latest computer analysis techniques, robotic technology and automated dump body paint plant. Machines from the site are shipped to customers around the world.
The Opportunity
As an Electrical Installation Technician, your responsibilities will span a wide range of electrical work. This includes installation, commissioning, fault-finding, maintenance, and repair, all in accordance with current legislation and codes of practice. In addition, you will be completing electrical fixed wiring inspection and testing.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Completing Dynamic Risk Assessments along with adhering to the company’s Health and Safety policy
Electrical installation of new machinery and equipment
Re-location and installation of existing machinery and equipment
Replacement and upgrade of Elec and Mech services
Installation of electrical services, compressed air and process gases
Electrical fixed wiring inspection and testing
Utilising a Computerised Maintenance Management System (SAP PM, Agility etc)
Complete training and further learning as required
Degree Requirement
Degree or equivalent experience desired
Skills, experience & qualifications you will have.
18th Edition Wiring Regulation
Relevant electrical engineer qualifications
Experience in electrical installation/maintenance
An interest in problem solving and passion to learn
Highly motivated with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement
Strong communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team and be comfortable to work independently
Experience in the use of hand tools and test equipment
Cross functional stakeholder management experience
Top candidates will have:
