Purpose of Position
The Automation Systems Specialist II position is a key contributor to the success of all Methodical customers. As a valuable member of the Methodical team, you will assist in the fabrication, assembly, and delivery of customer solutions within the industrial and manufacturing industries. Striving every day to bring the right solution to our customers to improve their way of life. Work is performed in an office environment and on-site at customer facilities.
Tasks and Responsibilities
· Partners with all required persons to drive successful implementation and integration for all projects.
· Assemble, install, and support solutions for Robot, PLC, HMI, Vision, Motion, Safety, and Sensing applications and products.
· Supports Head of Engineering, team members, customers, and vendor partners to execute solutions per customer requirements.
· Able to read & document electrical requirements and solutions within AutoCAD Electrical.
· Build electrical panels & cabinets.
· Takes ownership of issues; troubleshoot, research, and drive issues to resolutions.
· Embrace continuous learning with self-pace training and/or assigned trainings.
· Perform all work assigned by leadership.
· Participate in required project and team meetings.
· This position is as a field role, with time in the office for trainings, meetings, and other office requirements. Travel up to 100% (day, overnight, and multi-day travel may be required). Methodical covers all travel expenses (defined by travel policy).
Education
· Associate’s degree and/or specialized training in mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, computer science, mathematics, or design and technology is preferred (or combination of related degree and/or work-related experience).
Years of Experience
· 2 - 4 Years relevant years of work experience with one of the following is required: machining, tool, & die, electrical design & install, industrial safety design & install, mechanical assembly, robotics, and/or automation solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
· 1-2 years of programming experience in an industrial /manufacturing environment.
· Experience reading and following electrical prints is required.
· Knowledge of AutoCAD electrical.
· Experience with wiring and mechanical assembly is preferred.
· Experience designing & building electrical panels and working with electrical instrumentation is plus.
· Hands on experience with Sensors, Instrumentation, and motors is a plus.
· Experience with PLC and HMI is a plus.
· Industry standard software experience is a plus. (One or many, ex: ABB, Rockwell, Keyence, Mitsubishi, Omron, etc.).
· Ability to communicate well and work alongside customers.
· Ability to travel to and work at customer locations, at times in short notice.
· Experience working on projects with set requirements and timelines.
· Ability to accomplish work individually and/or with a team is required.
· Ability to be trainable, curious, dive into the unknown, research and find answers to solutions is required.
