Intro

Since 1963, Sheakley has been a trusted leader in safety management across construction, manufacturing, and industrial environments. We are hiring a Safety Manager to support an electrical subcontractor on a large-scale data center new build in Lancaster, OH. This role is ideal for safety professionals with strong electrical oversight experience who can drive compliance, training, and hazard prevention on a complex project.

The Safety Manager will oversee daily site safety activities, enforce OSHA and NFPA 70-E standards, and provide leadership to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Compensation

Rate: $48–$52/hour

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule

Hours: 50–60 hours/week

Schedule: Mon–Thur (10 hrs/day), Fri–Sat (8 hrs/day)

Project Scope

This assignment supports safety oversight for an electrical subcontractor working on a new data center build, including:

Daily inspections and monitoring of electrical contractor activities

Enforcement of OSHA and NFPA 70-E standards

Conducting toolbox talks, orientations, and safety training

Hazard identification, corrective action tracking, and compliance reporting

Support for high-voltage, energized work, and lockout/tagout procedures

Coordination with the GC and subcontractor teams to maintain safety culture

Responsibilities include:

Conducting daily safety walks, audits, and hazard recognition

Leading toolbox talks and employee orientations

Managing safety documentation, incident investigations, and reports

Monitoring subcontractor activities to enforce safe work practices

Supporting EHS compliance initiatives and electrical safety oversight

Qualifications

OSHA 510 (Required)

NFPA 70-E (Required)

5+ years of construction safety experience (electrical focus preferred)

Strong knowledge of OSHA compliance, hazard recognition, and corrective action processes

Ability to train, communicate, and enforce safety standards across a diverse workforce

Preferred Credentials

BCSP designation (CSP, CHST, or equivalent)

OSHA 500 Trainer Authorization

Competent Person training in electrical safety, fall protection, and LOTO

Knowledge Base

Strong working knowledge of:

Electrical contractor safety and NFPA 70-E standards

Construction safety practices, hazard communication, and PPE programs

Job hazard analysis, incident investigation, and regulatory reporting

OSHA standards and compliance strategies for data center builds
