PICU Travel Nurse Job Details
Location: Columbus, Ohio 43205 (Ohio healthcare jobs)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025 – End: 2/2/2026)
Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:30)
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Pay: $2250 – $2310
Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents
Orientation: 72 hours
PICU RN Qualifications
Active Ohio State or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at submission)
Minimum 2 years of recent PICU nursing experience
BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications
EPIC charting experience (self-rated 3/4 or higher)
Ability to float to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department (ED), stepdown, and MedSurg units
Two professional references (one must be a manager or supervisor)
First-time travel nurses considered (3+ years of experience and Level 1 Trauma experience preferred)
Cannot have worked permanently at the facility within the last 2 years
No local candidates within a 60-mile radius of Columbus, OH
PICU Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
Float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MedSurg units as needed
Administer medications, blood products, and manage advanced equipment (ventilators, arterial lines, central lines)
Monitor and interpret vital signs, ABGs, and hemodynamic parameters
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records
Educate and support pediatric patients and their families throughout the care process
Adhere to infection control and isolation protocols
Participate in orientation and ongoing nursing training as required
Note: Commitment through the New Year is required. Time off on 12/24 and 12/25 will not be approved. Floating to other units is mandatory for this travel nursing position.
