As a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Critical Infrastructure at Amazon, you will play a vital role in ensuring the performance and efficiency of AWS Data Centers. You will provide comprehensive support throughout the entire lifecycle of data centers, from the initial design phase to ongoing improvements and maintenance.
Your responsibilities will include:
Serving as the primary engineering resource for your region, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting support.
Conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and creating Corrective Action (CA) documentation for equipment failures.
Supporting operational challenges with on-the-spot training and procedural reviews for critical equipment.
Leading redesign efforts for existing data centers to enhance capacity, availability, efficiency, and sustainability.
Collaborating with internal teams, including operations, design, safety, and product management, to maintain high standards across services.
Developing innovative solutions tailored to enhance AWS data centers.
Managing multiple concurrent projects, possibly across various regions.
Initiating and conducting engineering audits and generating reports with risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
Acting as the resident engineer during new construction projects, overseeing commissioning and turnover processes.

Eligibility:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience in industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering, particularly in sectors like data centers, power generation, or oil/gas facilities.
Must possess a valid US driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities.
Experience as a resident engineer or field design consultant.
Familiarity with construction drawings, building codes, and preparing submittal documents.
Understanding of uninterruptible power supplies, generators, switchgear, power distribution, and cooling systems.
