Job Summary:
As a Windows OS Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Windows-based systems and infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our IT environment. This position requires a deep understanding of Windows operating systems, system automation, and experience with large-scale deployments.
Key Responsibilities:
System Design and Implementation: Design, configure, and deploy Windows-based systems and infrastructure to meet business requirements.
System Maintenance and Support: Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patches to ensure system stability and security. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Windows OS.
Automation and Scripting: Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline system management tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability of Windows servers and related applications.
Security Management: Implement and manage security policies and procedures to protect systems from threats and vulnerabilities.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures. Generate reports on system performance and health.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, developers, and IT support staff, to deliver integrated solutions and support business operations.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve the Windows infrastructure and processes. Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Windows system engineering or a similar role.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) administration and management.
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and other automation tools.
Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows services.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
Knowledge of security best practices and tools (e.g., antivirus, firewalls, intrusion detection).
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or similar are a plus. Soft Skills:
