Job Summary: The Lead Driver Pay Processor is responsible for guiding and supporting the driver pay processes. This position plays a crucial role in creating and monitoring workflow to maximize efficiency, leading projects, strategic decision-making, and providing subject matter expertise.

Essential Job Functions:

Exercises independent judgment to ensure all resources are allocated properly to ensure on time completion of all weekly driver pay processing responsibilities

Conduct training with new Driver Pay Processors on processes and systems

Provide support and assistance to Driver Pay Processors, addressing their queries, and helping with any challenges they may encounter in their roles

Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies and recommend enhancements to work flows

Audits all driver paperwork and trip information against dispatch for payroll purposes Audits all trip documents for billing, fuel tax, payroll, and compliance purposes

Posts all driver pay, including but not limited to the following: mileage pay, miscellaneous pay for trips, hourly and/or daily pay, any other special pay

Maintains lists and spreadsheets with information that include driver names, codes, pay rates, and current compliance/safety guidelines, and duty status changes

Audits payroll information weekly to ensure accuracy before finalizing

Interprets and implements company policies regarding driver pay

Facilitates professional communication with drivers, locations, and departments regarding policies, training, paperwork, and addresses pay-related queries or other documentation needs

Assists other departments in locating paperwork, auditing, research, and contacting drivers

Maintains confidentiality regarding wage and other sensitive information

Assists with the indexing/scanning departmental duties when needed

Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Valid Driver's license in state of residency with acceptable driving record

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and submit to the company random drug and alcohol program

Communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of internal and external staff

Manage multiple tasks independently to meet deadlines

Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications specifically Excel, Google Workspace, and 10 key

Ability to learn and adapt to new technology relating to office practices and procedures

Discretion to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree in finance, accounting, or related field

Proficiency in Accounting, TMW, or imaging software

One (1) year experience in a Driver Pay position or related field

Physical Demands: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator, and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment: The duties of this job are performed primarily in an office environment and occasionally, in a commercial motor vehicle terminal operations environment thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office/CMV equipment. Exposure to various climate conditions, fumes, dust, odors, oil/grease, and gasses.
