Chemist/ Customer Service Rep

Job Description

IGK is looking for a chemist/customer service rep to join our research team and participate in high-level, complex research projects. We seek a qualified candidate who has an expert understanding of lab procedures. They will test chemical substances through various methods to ensure the safety, functionality, and quality of a chemical product. The chemist will also be responsible for generating comprehensive technical reports that provide insight into a project, allowing the team to develop solutions as needed and conduct any additional tests.

Objectives of this role

Prepare, weigh, and use solutions for various laboratory procedures

Analyze chemical substances to identify their composition

Customize formulas and run tests to improve the quality of a chemical product

Draft detailed reports conveying experimental results and presenting findings to other scientists

Monitor laboratory equipment to minimize malfunctions and adhere to safety regulations

Customer visits for problem shooting and product research development

Responsibilities

Develop and conduct tests for chemical ingredients, substances, and materials

Participate in high-level chemical research projects and create improved testing methods

Sterilize all used equipment and organize tools in safe areas

Use chemical substances or sources like heat and energy to produce reactions

Skills and qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in chemistry, or other relevant field

Strong knowledge of laboratory technology, tools, and tests

Clear written communication skills to produce accurate lab reports

Solid understanding of lab health and safety regulations

Exceptional analytical research skills

Adequate computer skills

Preferred qualifications

Experience working in a laboratory setting

Additional certifications relevant to region

Excellent time-management skills when meeting important deadlines

Ability to think strategically and develop effective solutions

Experience in sealant manufacturing is an asset

Motivated and a positive attitude a must

Assist in customer trials

Ready to be available for site customer site visits

Assist production in new product development
