Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
Location: Columbus, OH 43205 (Ohio healthcare jobs)
Facility Setting: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Float Pool
Start Date: October 13, 2025
End Date: January 12, 2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
Total Hours: 36 hours per week
Orientation: 72 hours
Estimated Weekly Salary: $2250–$2310 per week
PICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Ohio or Compact RN license (required at time of application)
Minimum 2 years of recent PICU nursing experience
BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
Proficiency with EPIC charting (self-rated 3/4 or higher)
Ability to float to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department, stepdown, and MedSurg units
Two professional references (one must be a nurse manager or supervisor)
No prior permanent employment at this facility within the last 2 years
Commitment to stay through the New Year; no time off approved for 12/24-12/25
First-time travel nurses considered (3+ years of experience and Level 1 Trauma experience preferred)
Non-local candidates only (must live outside a 60-mile radius of Columbus, OH)
PICU RN Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
Float to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department, stepdown, and MedSurg units as needed
Perform advanced nursing interventions: ventilator management, central line care, hemodynamic monitoring, and administration of critical medications
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR
Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and hospital protocols
Participate in orientation and ongoing professional development for travel nurses
