MICU RN Job Details
Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
Healthcare Setting: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) – 10 Critical Care Tower
Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/17/2025 – End: 2/16/2026)
Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00)
Total Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940 - $1990
Patient Ratio: 1:1–2
Orientation: 48 hours
On-call: None
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Floating: May float to other critical care units within the healthcare organization
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent MICU/critical care RN experience
Active Registered Nurse license (compact RN license or Ohio state license required)
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Experience with EPIC charting system required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
Proficient in IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management
Two professional references required (at least one from a supervisor, manager, or formal leader)
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
MICU RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill adult patients with complex diagnoses, including multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, COVID, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver and renal failure
Utilize advanced critical care equipment such as NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV pumps, GE cardiac monitors, and ventilators
Perform and monitor continuous glucose monitoring for hyperglycemia and manage externalized IV pumps for COVID+ patients
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and pharmacy
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the EPIC electronic health record system
Float to other critical care units as needed within the healthcare organization
