Healthcare Setting: Oncology Pod – Emergency Department

Employment Type: Travel Nurse (locum tenens)

Shift: Night, 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00 – 07:30)

Hours per Week: 36

Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025 – End: 2/2/2026)

Patient Ratio: 1:4

Unit Size: 19 beds, 15 rooms

Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,720–$1,770

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience

Oncology nursing experience preferred

Proficiency with EPIC charting system

Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio RN license)

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS

Two professional references (one from a manager/director or supervisor)

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

ER Nurse Responsibilities

Provide emergency nursing care to adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients

Float to other hospital units as needed

Perform IV starts and phlebotomy procedures

Monitor telemetry and manage cardiac dysrhythmias

Administer blood products and IV vasopressors

Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and cardiac rhythms

Apply isolation precautions and triage patients

Care for ventilated patients and those requiring CPAP/BiPAP

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Unit Secretary)
