We are looking for a visionary Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial strategy and operations of a mission-driven organization in Louisville, Kentucky. This integral leadership role involves overseeing financial planning, compliance, risk management, and reporting while serving as a trusted advisor to the executive team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional strategic thinking capabilities and a proven ability to navigate complex financial landscapes.

Responsibilities:

• Direct the finance department to ensure the accurate preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.

• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategic initiatives, funding strategies, and cost-benefit analyses.

• Act as the primary liaison with external partners such as auditors, banks, investment managers, and technology vendors.

• Identify and manage financial risks, implementing proactive mitigation strategies.

• Provide financial reporting and guidance to the Finance Committee and subsidiary boards.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal fiscal policies.

• Drive organizational growth and sustainability through strategic financial planning.

• Develop fiscal policies and procedures that promote operational efficiency and excellence.

• Foster financial literacy across departments, ensuring effective use of reports for decision-making.

• Lead audit processes and other major financial engagements with precision and accountability.• Minimum of seven years of experience in senior financial leadership roles.

• Strong expertise in accounting systems, financial structures, and risk management.

• Exceptional strategic planning and analytical capabilities.

• Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences, including non-financial staff and board members.

• Proven track record of successfully leading organizational change and managing external financial relationships.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications preferred.

• Experience working with nonprofit or mission-driven organizations is an advantage.

• Familiarity with board governance and managing subsidiary financial structures.
