Location: Columbus, OH 43210 – Thriving Ohio healthcare hub with excellent amenities and arts scene
Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
Healthcare Setting: Oncology Immediate Care Center (ICC) & Emergency Department (ED)
Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
Weekly Hours: 36
Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025 – End: 2/2/2026)
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1720 - $1770
Patient Demographics: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Unit Size: 14 beds
Orientation: 76 hours
ER Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience
Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting system
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact or Ohio state license required at submission
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Certifications: BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Ability to float between Immediate Care Center (ICC) and Emergency Department (ED) as needed
Two professional references (one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role)
Compliance with Ohio fingerprinting process (to be completed promptly upon contract signing)
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions considered)
ER RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with a range of urgent and non-urgent conditions, including sickle cell crisis, fever, abdominal pain, uncontrolled pain, anemia, nausea, vomiting, and dehydration
Administer blood products, manage central lines, and perform phlebotomy procedures
Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and cardiac dysrhythmias
Initiate and maintain IVs, administer emergency medications, and care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
Utilize PCA pumps and CPAP/BiPAP devices as needed
Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Float between ICC and ED units to support patient care needs
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the EPIC system
