NICU Registered Nurse Jobs – Locum Tenens Night Shift Opportunity in Columbus, Ohio

NICU RN Job Details – Columbus, OH

Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/27/2025 – End: 1/26/2026)

Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00)

Hours per Week: 36

Estimated Weekly Salary: $2130-$2190

Setting: Level IV NICU with float requirements to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, Med/Surg, and BPD NICU units

NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Ohio or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at time of submission)

Minimum 2 years of recent Level III/IV NICU RN experience (including at least 1 year in a Level IV NICU)

BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred

Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting system

Experience with tracheostomy care and high parent involvement, especially in BPD NICU

Willingness to float to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, Med/Surg, and other hospital campuses as needed

Two professional references required at submission (one must be from a manager or supervisor)

Cannot have worked as a permanent employee at this facility within the past 2 years

No local candidates (must reside outside a 60-mile radius of Columbus, OH)

NICU RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to neonates, infants, and pediatric patients in a Level IV NICU setting

Float to other critical care and Med/Surg units as needed, adapting to diverse patient populations and acuity levels

Perform advanced NICU nursing procedures, including tracheostomy management, ventilator management, central line care, and administration of specialized medications

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans

Educate and support families, especially in long-term BPD NICU cases with high parent involvement

Maintain accurate clinical documentation using the Epic EHR system

Participate in unit-based initiatives and quality improvement activities
