WOOD MACHINIST

Location: Swindon

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 per annum

Day to Day Duties

Check all wood sizes, materials, and designs are correct as per the paperwork.

Ensure the accuracy and quantity of all machined wood products before passing them to the next process.

Follow the Production Schedule as part of achieving agreed delivery dates and OTIF (On Time In Full) levels.

Ensure all wood machining and finishing meet stringent company quality standards by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and supplied drawings.

Resolve any machining or production issues, escalating to your Team Leader if required.

Complete any rectification work necessary to deliver customer orders to specification.

Raise suggestions for process and procedural improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.

Maintain and improve upon company quality standards across all wood machining operations.

Maintain a safe, tidy, and effective working area at all times.

Adhere to all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Essential Skills

Proven Wood Machinist or Furniture Machinist experience is essential.

Skilled in using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers for precision woodwork.

Strong understanding of wood machining processes, quality control, and defect identification.

Ability to interpret technical drawings and cutting lists accurately.
