Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:
Join the international teams of Prysmian's R&D Optical Fiber Business Unit. Participate in the design and development of new products in the optical fiber plant, located in Eindhoven (The Netherlands).
Description:
Reporting to the Fiber Product R&D Manager, you will be responsible for the design, development, and qualification of new generations of optical fibers (in particular hollow- core and multimode fibers), the development of new measurement strategies, and the support of new manufacturing process development.
Key challenges for this role:
In a multicultural and multisite context, you will:
• Model the propagation characteristics of the fibers and their impacts on their
performance for their specific applications,
• Develop and maintain the modeling tools used by the Fiber Product R&D Group,
• Design, develop and qualify new optical fibers and new measurements strategies for existing products and for new products,
• Define new items to be incorporated into the optical fiber development roadmap,
• Provide technical support to Process Control and Operations teams for the resolution of
specific problems, and to Sales and Quality teams in their discussions with customers and on issues related to standardization,
• Propose publications in scientific journals or conferences,
• Participate in technology watch activities (publications, patents, products).
Skills and Competences:
• MSc or Engineer Diploma (PhD is a plus) with a first successful experience in an industrial environment.
• Experience in computer science programming (Comsol, Matlab...).
• Technical knowledge in cross disciplined science based on graduate research and prior work history (publications, research topics).
• Knowledge of statistics and SQL database.
• Fluent English.
• Management and communication skills.
• Rigor, methodology, flexibility, reliability, versatility.
