Job Advert: English Supply Teacher – Brighton

Location: Brighton, East Sussex

Job Type: Supply (Full-time / Part-time / Flexible)

Start Date: Immediate or September 2025 start

Salary: £168 - £262 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Supply Desk is working in partnership with a number of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across Brighton who are currently seeking enthusiastic and adaptable English Supply Teachers to support their English departments on a flexible, ongoing basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced teachers looking for flexible work, or Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to build classroom experience in a range of schools.

The Role:

Deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students

Foster a love of reading, writing, and discussion across mixed-ability classes

Follow school policies and contribute positively to the school community

Adapt quickly to different classroom environments while maintaining high standards of behaviour and learning

What We’re Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Specialism in English Language or Literature

Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills

A flexible, proactive, and professional approach to supply teaching

Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
