The Role
As a Special Investigation Claims Expert, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our claims handling strategy. Working closely with our claims team, you’ll swiftly identify cases that can be settled with minimal validation, while accurately triaging those requiring special investigation. You’ll take ownership of a caseload of complex special investigation claims, managing them from initial notification through to resolution, and delivering a proactive, high-quality service to our clients and brokers.
We’re looking for someone with proven experience managing a diverse portfolio of claims across a range of perils. If you have strong influencing and communication skills, and can confidently engage with a wide range of stakeholders across the business, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll be Doing
Responsible for promoting the Special Investigations (SI) function within Hiscox Claims taking referrals and managing the triage process to ensure the correct SI strategy is adopted.
Conducting background checks and desktop investigations.
Managing a caseload of SI claims through to conclusion; this will include invoking the fraud condition / policy voidances (in conjunction with underwriters).
Working closely with the other Claims teams to ensure SI referral targets are met and referrals are of appropriate quality.
Building and managing relationships with brokers and service providers.
Carrying out service provider audits and review meetings.
Undertake Conversation Management calls where appropriate.
Target driven with responsibility for the Special Investigation Claims performance against KPI’s and financial targets.
Point of contact for fraud related matters across the business.

Our Nice to Haves
Preferably educated to degree standard (candidates with suitable relevant experience will be considered)
ACII or CILA qualification or progression towards, preferred.
Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist (ACFS) qualification or other associated fraud investigation qualifications
