Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Surgical Technologist, Certified to join a collaborative surgical team. The ideal candidate will support safe and efficient surgical procedures by ensuring a sterile environment, maintaining equipment functionality, and assisting the surgical team with instruments and preparation. This role requires strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and anatomy, and is ideal for professionals committed to maximizing patient safety and surgical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing the operating room and maintaining aseptic conditions

Ensure all surgical equipment is functional and sterilized

Support the surgeon and RN during invasive procedures

Perform technical and physical tasks related to surgical procedures

Clean and restock operating rooms and sterile core areas

Communicate clearly and effectively in high-stress environments

Respond within 30 minutes while on-call as part of weekend rotation

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of sterilization and aseptic techniques

Familiarity with surgical instrumentation, wound dressing, and patient preparation

Understanding of medical equipment maintenance and post-operative care

Required Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology or Operating Room Technology

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist or ORT program

Active NBSTSA certification or ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire

BLS or CPR certification through AHA or Red Cross or ability to obtain within 6 weeks of hire
