Position Overview
The State of Ohio DCY is seeking an experienced Product Specialist 5 (PS5) to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have advanced expertise in WebSphere Application Server administration, cloud system administration (Azure, AWS, and Google), and containerized application platforms on Linux/AIX.
This role supports a multi-tier, multi-platform enterprise environment and requires a candidate comfortable with high availability, scalability, and 24/7 on-call support.
Experience & Education
Required Experience: 10 years
Preferred Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
Key Knowledge Areas
Unix, Linux, and Windows system administration
High availability and disaster recovery design
Network load balancers, firewalls, and IP subnet management
Monitoring tools: Splunk, Dynatrace, and Azure Monitor
CI/CD pipelines: Jenkins, Nexis, Azure DevOps

Core Responsibilities
WebSphere Administration
Perform upgrades, patches, and resolve security issues.
Install, configure, and deploy new WebSphere servers on AIX and Linux.
Automate tasks using shell scripts and troubleshoot application issues.
Manage SSL and application security configurations.
Work with Apache, IBM HTTP Server, and IIS.
Collaborate with development and cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.
Cloud & Container Management
Work with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker/Podman and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
Implement cloud infrastructure using Azure CI/CD pipelines.
Support SaaS products such as MuleSoft Cloud Integration and Adobe Enterprise.
Enforce cloud security standards and best practices.
Required Skills
Minimum of 10 years of overall relevant IT experience in enterprise environments.
Proven experience administering WebSphere Application Servers on AIX and Linux platforms, including installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting (8+ years).
Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud (8+ years).
Extensive experience deploying and managing containers, microservices, and Kubernetes clusters in both on-premises and cloud environments (8+ years).
Skilled in administering platforms like MuleSoft, RabbitMQ, Docker/Podman, Prometheus, and Azure CI/CD (8+ years).
Expertise in designing and maintaining high-availability systems with vertical/horizontal scaling and disaster recovery strategies (10+ years).
Demonstrated experience working in multi-tier, multi-platform enterprise-class environments (10+ years).
Certifications in WebSphere, AIX/Unix, Linux, Azure CI/CD, Azure/AWS, RedHat OpenShift, Docker, Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript are highly desired.
Experience using Azure Repos and Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines is highly desired.
