Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool ICU position requiring night shifts, an active OH or compact RN license, and ICU expertise. Responsibilities
Work in a hospital-based Critical Care Float Pool covering multiple ICUs, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, MICU, and NCCU
Night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), three 12-hour shifts per week
Nurses float among units based on staffing needs and patient acuity, covering equivalent or lower acuity units
Patient populations range from neurological, surgical, medical, and cardiac critical care
Primary responsibilities include providing critical care nursing across varied patient populations and supporting multiple ICU teams
Candidates must complete urgent fingerprinting as part of the onboarding process
Weekend night shift coverage is required with flexibility to meet unit needs
Locals are accepted at the same rate
Requested time off must be included during initial consideration
First-time travelers may apply, but previous travel experience is strongly preferred
Epic EMR proficiency is mandatory Requirements
Active Ohio or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record system required
Skills required: IV start, telemetry, and ventilator management
Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited RN program
Two professional references required, with at least one from a supervisor or manager
Former employees eligible after 6 months away; current employees ineligible for traveler positions at this location Benefits
