Position: CDL Driver (Class B)
Reports to: Assistant Facilities Manager
Position Summary
This position requires a dependable and efficient CDL truck driver. Must be organized, detailed oriented, and comfortable working independently. A clean driving record and commercial driving experience is a must.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle
Pick up and safely transport goods to intended destination
Ensure contents are properly secured in truck/flatbed to prevent damage/injury
Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries
Assist in mapping driving routes
Stay on predetermined route to ensure timely transport and delivery
Communicate with dispatch as needed
Confirm that the contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document
Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip
Check weather conditions and road reports before departure
Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean
Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)
Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times
Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
Track and report working hours
Adhere to company rules and regulations
Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions
Make safety a priority at all times
Alert, focused, and detailed-oriented
Physically and mentally fit with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
Education/Training
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid commercial driver's license (CDL); class B required
2 + years proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred
Clean driving record with no moving violation
Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
Qualification/Requirement
Must show proof of your legal right to work in the United States
This position requires US Citizenship due to security clearance required for base access
Must be able to successfully obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
Must be able to successfully obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sites
All candidates must submit to and pass a post-offer drug screening, physical test, and a background check before employment begins. Failure to complete any of these steps will result in disqualification
Valid State of Hawaii REAL ID-Compliant Drivers’ License in good standing or a valid U.S. Passport in addition to a valid Hawaii Driver’s License, if you do not have a REAL ID-Compliant Driver’s License, class B required
Candidates must have access to reliable transportation to get to work and other job sites on time for the start of shift
Must be flexible in work hours
