Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with a focus on oncology patients and flexibility in scheduling. Responsibilities
Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with an oncology patient population
Majority of patients require continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration or symptom management
Patient ratio is 1:4
Utilizes B450 monitors, GE telemetry system, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
Uses Epic EMR, and Epic experience is required
Night shifts, 3x12 hour schedule, 19:00-07:30
No set schedule or weekends; schedule is assigned by the facility and requires flexibility
Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
Oncology experience is preferred but not required
Primary duties include managing comorbidities, infection prevention, and fall prevention in oncology patients
Must adhere strictly to infection prevention protocols
Must be prepared for urgent Ohio fingerprinting upon contract signing
Locals are accepted at the same rate
Former employees eligible if separated from the facility for 6 months or more
Current employees at OSU hospitals are not eligible for traveler roles Requirements
Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Current BCLS certification required
Epic experience required
Ability to interpret dysrhythmias
Skills in accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care, IV starts, assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, high flow nasal cannula use, and ABG interpretation
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Two professional references required, with at least one from a supervisor or manager Benefits
